Zurich Things to Do – Dads

Centre Le Courbusier
Hoeschgasse 8
8034 Zürich

The last building that seminal Swiss architect Le Courbusier designed is now a museum dedicated to his work and legacy. Unlike his earlier concrete-dominant designs, the building is constructed from a combination of prefabricated steel and enamelled plate elements in bold colours. Le Courbusier’s work was based on the concept of gesamtkunstwerk – meaning total or universal works of art. He combined art, architecture, furniture design, writing and sculpture, and this museum reflects that in the exhibits. Bring the kids by all means, but you might prefer to enjoy it alone.
